What types of taxes does this calculator support?

Our calculator supports three main tax types: 1) GST (Goods and Services Tax) used in India, Canada, Australia, Singapore, 2) VAT (Value Added Tax) used in UK, EU countries, UAE, and 3) Sales Tax used in the United States. It automatically adjusts calculations based on the selected country.

How do I add or remove tax from an amount?

To add tax, select 'Add Tax', enter your amount and tax rate. To remove tax, select 'Remove Tax', enter the total amount (including tax) and tax rate. The calculator will compute the original amount and tax amount automatically.

What is the difference between simple and detailed breakdown for India GST?

Simple breakdown shows total GST amount. Detailed breakdown splits GST into CGST (Central GST) and SGST (State GST), each at half the total GST rate. For example, 18% GST becomes 9% CGST + 9% SGST in detailed mode.

Which countries are supported?

We currently support 10 countries: India (GST), United States (Sales Tax), United Kingdom (VAT), Canada (GST/HST), Australia (GST), Germany (VAT), France (VAT), Japan (Consumption Tax), Singapore (GST), and United Arab Emirates (VAT). More countries are being added regularly.

How accurate are the tax calculations?

Calculations use standard tax formulas and provide results accurate to 2 decimal places. For GST calculations in detailed mode, amounts are split precisely between CGST and SGST components. The tool shows detailed breakdowns for verification.

Can I save my tax calculations?

Yes, all calculations are automatically saved to your browser's history. You can view, reuse, or clear your calculation history. Your data remains private and never leaves your device.
